Appointment Policy
To allow ample time for all patients
and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate primarily by appointment. Emergency
cases shall alwaysreceive top priority, which is why occasional appointment
delay is inevitable. We assure you that this is not an everyday occurrence.
Pleaserealize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on
time.
Patients may experience a wait if they arrive late for an appointment as
doctors are bound to see patients who arrive on time first. It may be necessary to reschedule if the patient is more than a half hour late, though
we do our very best to accommodate you.
For your convenience, drop-off appointments are available. A drop
off appointment allows you to bring your pet in at a time that
works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours or the day.
Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors
can examine the patient in between appointments or at the time purposely
reserved for admitted patients. Once the doctor is done with the exam, he or
she will give you a call to discuss any possible treatments or drug
therapy before going forward. After you've had an opportunity to
discuss the diagnosis, you and the doctor can decide upon the best course for
treatment. Remember to leave a cell phone or work number where you
can best be reached.
Saturday Appointments are very prized time slots. Often times, Saturday’s
book up a week in advance. If you schedule a Saturday appointment it
is critical that you keep your appointment or call and cancel as soon in
advance as possible so that we can use that time slot for other sick
pets. After two no shows on a Saturday, we ask that clients place a
small deposit down to create an incentive to keep the appointment.
This may seem harsh, but it is very difficult to turn people away because
we are booked and then have clients that don't come in for their appointments.
Surgical Patient Arrival Policy
For patients undergoing surgery, please remember the following:
Nothing to eat after midnight the night before. This significantly
reduces the possibility of your pet vomiting during anesthesia. Your
pet may drink water as is necessary unless you are informed otherwise by
the surgeon.
Please drop your pet off the morning of the surgery between 7 and 8 AM.
This allows us ample time to get your pet acclimated to the hospital
environment prior to the surgery. During this time we also begin the
pre-surgical tests necessary to assure that your pet is healthy
and able to undergo anesthesia.
If your pet will spend the night or a couple of nights in the hospital, we ask
that you pick your pet up on the designated day anytime after 9
AM and before 6 PM. This allows the doctors to examine your pet
before discharging them from the hospital. A convenient discharge
time will be set with you when you bring your pet in for surgery.
Pet and People Safety Policy
Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during
visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and
other pets. Even the most docile pets may become hyper-alert and
upset during visits especially when they may not be feeling their
best. This is the reason we must insist that you restrain
your pet in the waiting areas of the hospital. We recommend that animals
be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the waiting
room. If there are children in the waiting area, please keep your
pet close to your side to avoid potential stress for your pet.
We also ask that you keep your pets away from other pets even though they show
interest in "checking" each other out. Some illnesses may
be shared by nose to nose contact or other modes of transmission.
Payment Policy
We require full payment at the time that services are
rendered. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and cash. Due to
a recent increase in checks written with insufficient funds available, we will
no longer be able to accept checks. We are sorry for this
inconvenience. We do however; take check cards with a credit card logo
such as Visa.
